Daniel M Yost, 81, Pottstown Daniel M Yost, beloved husband of Shirley (Miller) Yost, 81, died Wednesday, October 4, in Parkhouse at Providence Pointe.
He was born in Danville, PA, to the late Wilbert and the late Mae (Morris) Yost. He has lived in Shamokin, PA, Barnesville, PA, and North Coventry Township for the past 40 years. Daniel was a graduate of Mahanoy Township High School, and Steven’s Trade School, Lancaster, PA. He worked as a Business Owner and engineer for Yost Industries of Pottstown until his retirement.
A member and trustee of The Parkerford Baptist Church, he was a deputy of the Pennsylvania State Game Commission and loved his cabin in the woods, hunting, and all wild life and especially his black labs. Also, he was a member of the Spring Ford Jaycees, a member and past master of The Spring Ford Masonic Lodge, and played his saxophone for the High Hatters of Lancaster. Daniel had his private pilot’s license and loved flying
In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by his two children, daughter, Laurie Smith (Kenneth) of Linfield, and Donald Hine (Laurie) of Pottstown; sister, Carol Lord (Leon) of Lamar, PA, brother Kenneth Yost (June) of Barnesville, PA, and 1 grandson, Nathaniel Paul Hine. He is predeceased by his brothers, Robert B. Yost (Carol), and Kimber Yost.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday, October 7, at 10:30 at The Parkerford Baptist Church, 92 Baptist Church Road, Spring City,PA, with the Rev Robert Davalt officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM followed by the funeral service. Interment will be held at the Parkerford Baptist Cemetery following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to The Parkerford Baptist Church.
