Obituary of Pearl Wills

Pearl (Flohr) Wills, 96, died on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at home after a short illness. She was predceased by her husband, Woodrow Wills in 2002 after 67 years of marriage. Born in Thurmont, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry Flohr and May (Florh) Flohr. After retiring in 1975, she and her husband volunteered with he American Baptist Churches, USA as lay missionaries in Keams Canyon, AZ for 9 months, ministering to Navajo and Hopi Indians and then 3 years in Anadarko, OK with the Wichita Indians. While still living in Bethlehem, PA she and her husband delivered Meals on Wheels and were Grandparent Advisors to the youth group of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Wills was also an active member of the Chrisitan Women's Club. She was an active member of the Royersford Baptist Church, participating in the American Baptist Women's Ministries and the Graduates services group. She also participated with the Elderberries seniors group of the First Baptist Church, Pottstown. She is survived by one daughter with whom she resided, Julianne Williams, 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren and one sister, Dora Fisher of Bethlehem, PA. Mrs. Wills was predeceased by one daughter, Vera Austin, and one son, John Wills; six sisters, Rosa Lidie, Alice Kern, Ruth Ridenour, Ida Schildt, Lillian Flohr and Clara Barley; two brothers, Earl Flohr and Glen Diehl. Services will be held at the Royersford Baptist Church, 542 South Lewis Rd., Royersford, at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2009 with the Rev. Karen Selig officiating. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6:00-7:30 and on Monday from 11:30-1:15. Burial will be at the Fernwood Cemetery, Royersford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Royersford Baptist Church to benefit the American Baptist Women's Ministries. Arrangements are by the Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, Spring City. Online condolences may be made at sgsfuneralhome.com.
