Obituary of James B. Whitmore

James B. Whitmore, 61, husband of Kathleen (Miller) Whitmore, died Thursday at his home. Jim was born in Olean, NY to the late John and the late Beverly (Burt) Whitmore. Raised in Phoenixville, he lived most of his adult life in Spring City. Jim graduated from Northern Chester County Technical School in Phoenixville, he was the lead printer for The Freedom's Foundation, Certainteed Corporation. Jim's last place of employment was at Spring Hollow Golf Club where he worked in the pro shop. He played and umpired softball for many years at the Phoenixville YMCA, in additrion, he enjpyed bowling, golf, hunting and fishing where he was a tournament bass fisherman. Jim was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his wife, Kathleen, he is survived by loving daughter, Corey Lynn Fuzi wife of Justin Fried, two brothers, F. Michael Whitmore of Spring City, and Chris E. Whitmore of Alabama, and two grandchildren, Kieran Treece and Journi Treece; and several nieces and nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by a brother, Kirt A. Whitmore. Friends and family are invited to his funeral service at Shalkop, Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge St. Spring City, PA 19475 on Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. Burial will be private. On line condolences may be made at www.sgsfuneralhome.com
