Joseph A. Carona, 85, Limerick/Linfield Joseph A. Carona, of Limerick/Linfield PA age 85, beloved husband of Carolyn (Lacher) Carona, died on Wednesday morning at his residence. Joe was born and raised in South Philadelphia a son to the late Antonino and Anna (Tusa) Carona. Joe was a graduate of Northeast high school and of LaSalle University. Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving our country in combat during the Korean War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, Combat Infantrymen Badge and the United Nations Service Medal. He was employed for many years by the Kent Company retiring as Vice President of Sales, at which point he started and ran a successful business Hawk Industries before formal retirement several years ago. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Royersford and a very active member in Lions, he served in several offices of the Lions Club of Spring City and the Amity Lions in PA as well as the Elkhart Lions Club in Indiana. Joe loved spending time with his family and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles being a long time season ticket holder since 1961. Joe loved to travel the world and did so frequently with his family, his hobbies included collecting antiques, including a large collection of clocks and raising & Racing homing pigeons. In addition to his wife he is the beloved father of Daughters: Mary Carolyn wife of Gregory Cushing and Jean Marie wife of Robert Fuga and Son: Anthony J. Carona husband of Diane. And three grandchildren: Vanessa Marie, Anthony J Carona Jr, and Sabrina Ann Brother: Vito husband of Dorothy Carona and proceeded in death by sisters: Josephine and Jean and brothers: Charles, Anthony J. and Victor J. Carona Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass on Monday January 26, 2015 at 10am at the Sacred Heart Church Roman Catholic Church, 838 Walnut Street Royersford PA, with the Rev Peter J. DiMaria officiating. Entombment will be in the Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. His viewing will be held in church on Monday from 8:45-9:45 am. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts may be made in his memory to: Sacred Heart Church Roman Catholic Church, P.O.
