William W. Potter, 92, Spring City William W. Potter, husband of Catherine H. Potter, 92, died Friday in Manatawny Manor. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Ira and the late Ellen (Shalkop) Potter. He worked in Maintenance for The West Company. He served during WWII war in the Army, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge in the European Theater. In addition to his wife of 73 years, he is survived by his two daughters, Gail Cossaboon and Marsha Long; 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren With the officiating. William W. Potter, 92 the son of the late Ira and Ellen Shalkop Potter died on Friday, January 22 2016 in the Manatawny Manor. A life long resident of the East Pikeland/Phoenixville Area, he was a 1941 graduate of Phoenixville High School. William married Catharine Hartshaw in 1942. They were blessed with two daughters: Gail Cossabonn, wife of Barry, Pottstown, PA and Marsha Long, wife of Timothy, Spring City, PA. William served our country in the US Army where he fought in WWII and particiapated in the Battle of the Buldge and European Theatre. After his service, he worked for 42 years in maintenance for the West Company in Phoenixville. He had a passion for deep sea fishing and collecting antique lighting especially gas lights In addition to his wife and children, William is leaving behind five grandchildren: Christine Deery, John Wesley Potter, Jr., Celeste Dragwa, David Cossaboon, Gwen Long and seven great grandchildren. Predeceased is his only sister: Margaret Faulkingham.
