William H “Reds” Rhodenbaugh, 88, Spring City William H “Reds” Rhodenbaugh, 88, husband of the late of Mildred Eckert Rhodenbaugh of Spring City, formally of Linfield and Royersford, died Thursday in Seasons Hospice in Phoenixville PA. He was born in Linfield to the late Stanley and the late Ida Mae (Houck) Rhodenbaugh. Reds lived most of his life in Linfield and Royersford. He was employed for many years as Field Superintendent for the Twin County Construction as until his retirement. He served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater, and was a member of The Thomas O’Conner, Spring City American Legion Post 602, The Royersford Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6341, The Lower Pottsgrove Sportsman’s Club, and The Friendship Fire Company of Royersford and the Liberty Fire Company of Spring City. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, and was a big John Wayne fan. Reds is survived by his three children, Gary Rhodenbaugh, Husband of Kathy of Pottstown, Kenneth “Kenny” Rhodenbaugh husband of Mary of Royersford, and Gayle, wife of Paul Kern of Spring City, a brother, Carl Witzel , husband of Esther, and companion Nancy McKain of Spring City; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Emma Hoff. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge St. Spring City, PA 19475 with The Rev. Erick Kern officiating. Burial to follow with full military honors in the Philadelphia Memorial Park Frazer PA; Visitation will be held on Monday, January 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and again on Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
