William Schantz, 91, of East Coventry Township
William Schantz, 91, beloved husband of the late Shirley Schantz, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at his home in East Coventry Township.
Born in 1935, he was the son of the late Alvin and Ida (Miller) Schantz. William was a lifelong resident of East Coventry Township. He graduated from the former Spring City High School and went on to work for 30 years at the former Diamond Glass Company until its closing. He later worked as a custodian for the Spring-Ford Area School District until his retirement.
Throughout his life, William was known for his strong work ethic and deep love for his family. In his free time, he enjoyed spending weekends in Long Beach Island where he liked crabbing and fishing. He also found great joy in gardening and watching the birds from the window of his home in East Coventry.
William is survived by his two children, Sandy, wife of Russell Valentine, and Brian Schantz; his granddaughter, Kimberley, wife of Michael Yannick; and his great-granddaughter, Lauren E. Yannick. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Jane Hoagey. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Leonard Schantz.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Shalkop & Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge Street, Spring City, PA. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Parkerford. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
