Obituary of Dwight Larry Miller

Please share a memory of Dwight to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dwight Larry Miller, 75, of Spring City, passed away at home on February 1, 2025. Larry was born on February 26, 1949, in Phoenixville to John and Mary Miller (Pronchick). A lifelong resident of Spring City, Larry was a proud graduate of Spring-Ford High School and continued his support of the district and community as a volunteer.

Following high school, Larry proudly served his country in the United States Navy, fighting in the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he dedicated his career to serving his community, working as a USPS Clerk until his retirement. He also served as a crossing guard for the elementary school. He was a life member of Liberty Fire and Friendship Hook and Ladder. Larry was also an active member at the Spring City American Legion and the Royersford VFW.

An avid sports enthusiast, Larry was a life-long fisherman and hunter. He was a loyal fan of Penn State football and enjoyed cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. Larry also enjoyed watching NASCAR and NHRA drag racing. He shared his passion for sports by coaching Little League baseball and serving as an umpire for many years.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Robin Miller (Austin), his two children, Rob Miller and Heather Steele (Wayne), and his three beloved grandchildren, Logan Kiser, Meredith Kiser, and Madison Steele. He also leaves behind his sister, Doris Gertenich, his late sister Diane Swartz, and his late brothers, Dave Miller and Dean Miller.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 9:00–10:30 AM at the Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge Street, Spring City, PA 19475. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 AM, with a graveside burial at Limerick Garden of Memories, 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick, PA 19468.
