Eugene (Gene) M. Krumenacker

March 6, 1940 - March 7, 2025 

Eugene Krumenacker, age 85, passed away on March 7, 2025 at his home in Limerick, Pennsylvania.

Born March 6, 1940 to the late Anna (Murphy) and Michael H. Krumenacker, he spent the early part of his childhood in Philadelphia before moving to Collegeville when he was 13 years old. He was a graduate of Spring Ford High School, where he was a linebacker for the football team. He was credited with nine quarter-back sacks in one season, was a four-time player of the week and voted as most valuable player by his teammates of the Class of 1958. According to several former coaches, he was known as “pound for pound one of the toughest linemen in Spring Ford history.”

It was during this time that he met the love of his life and best friend, Diane Ingram, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Gene served in the United States Navy from 1962 to1964. He served on the USS Enterprise where he honed his mechanical skills that would later help him launch a successful career in the HVAC industry. As a patriot, he remained proud throughout his life that he served the country he loved. 

He began his career as an HVAC mechanic for the Steamfitters Local 420 in Philadelphia. In 1972 he established Penjerdel Refrigeration Corporation. Gene and his two partners grew the company into one of the leading mechanical contracting companies in the tri-state area. In 1988 he decided to branch out on his own and together with his sons and wife Diane, founded RAMM, Inc. He valued his time at RAMM and prided himself for creating a company that was known and respected throughout the Philadelphia area for quality and trustworthiness. Having a true entrepreneurial spirit, Gene loved helping others launch and grow their careers. A tremendously supportive friend and mentor, he assisted many people throughout the years as they formed successful companies of their own, often referring to them as his “alumni.” 

He had a keen interest in current events and was known for his ability to remember information and facts. He enjoyed conversing on a wide range of topics and would remember every detail about a person or subject with whom he engaged. His family will always remember the extra people around the dinner table every Thanksgiving, because if someone didn't have a place to go, he made sure they were invited to his house. 

An avid golfer, he was a member of Spring Ford Country Club for over 50 years, participating in countless tournaments and social events. He enjoyed playing various golf courses throughout the country, particularly with his close group of friends and colleagues who deemed themselves “The Dirty Dozen.” After retiring, he spent many years in North Myrtle Beach golfing with Diane and hosting friends and family.

He was a lifelong car enthusiast, some of his favorites being his 1957 Thunderbird and 1965 Jaguar.

Gene's true pride and joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He consistently supported and encouraged everyone in his family to be the best they could be. He valued hard work and integrity and instilled those values in his children and grandchildren. He is remembered by his children for his tough and honest love mixed with a great sense of humor. His grandchildren will always remember him teaching them to golf, rock climbing in his living room, and building a dam across French Creek in his backyard every year. Most of all, they remember the unique nicknames he affectionately gave to each one of them. 

Gene was known by most for his charisma, toughness and honest authentic delivery, yet equally remembered for his generosity and heart of gold. He truly believed there was no problem that couldn't be fixed with a strong drink and genuine conversation. There was always a good reason to begin happy hour early. 

He is survived by his wife Diane and three children, Kelly O'Keefe (Ken) of Spring City, Eugene Krumenacker, Jr. (Julia) of Chester Springs and Mark Krumenacker (Jennifer) of Chester Springs, eight grandchildren, Nicholas O'Keefe, Lauren Barnes (Steve), Katy Walsh (Joseph), Christian Krumenacker, Eugene Krumenacker, Brendan Krumenacker, Madeline Krumenacker and Kylie Krumenacker. 

Viewings will take place on Tuesday March 11th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at R. Strunk Funeral Home, 400 Main St, Phoenixville, PA and on Wednesday March 12th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Saint Basil the Great Parish, 2330 Kimberton Rd, Phoenixville, PA followed by a funeral mass celebrated at 11:00 am. Internment will take place after the service at Limerick Garden of Memories, 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick, PA.
