Roger has been my best friend (strike that… my brother) since we met 66 years ago when we were four years old. I was in my pedal car at the corner, and he was on his tricycle on the opposite corner. We would meet there to talk or have a catch across the intersection. (We weren’t allowed to cross the street.) As the years went on, those chats turned to dinners and conversations (usually the same old stories over and over again) that would last until three in the morning.
He was always there for me and my family. Ready to help fix something, lend an ear, or have my back. When I married and moved 30 minutes away, he was right there to help care for my aging parents. When my Mom slipped off a chair and couldn’t get herself into a position to get up, she called him. He came right down, got her up, and then they spent the next 3-4 hours talking! That was Roger. He was always there for us (and for all his friends and neighbors). I could always sleep and live soundly knowing that he was there.
I will miss you, my brother from another mother. The hole in my heart is filling with memories that I will hold close and think of often. Rest easy… until we work on a car on the other side.

A very gracious man. I knew his dad and grandparents. His grandparents lived a couple of miles from my parents home. Wilbur & Grace Mauger. His grandad could fix about anything. His dad sold me 2 cars when needed. I met Roger at his dad's gravesite. And shared many memories of his dad and grandparents. May Jesus continue to uplift ALL family & friends. Art Mauger, friend.
