I remember my brother for his kindness and his generosity. He never forgot my birthday and other special holidays . He was an awesome teacher from helping me with recipes to sharing his vegetables from his garden . I will miss him and he will always have a special place in my heart.

Don will be missed so much. He was such a caring man. He was one of my favorite dialysis patients, I thought of him more like a grandfather than a patient. He treated me the same I felt. Don was the type of person that enjoyed making people happy by sharing his stores, food, flowers and word of God. He would bring in treats for dialysis staff or for the patients. He would even bring in flowers at times to brighten up the clinic. I really enjoyed having the time to sit with him and hear his stories he would tell me. We talked about his teaching career and his students, Mary and Dan and the dog Nikki who you could tell he loved them all very much. He would tell me about all his friends, his fishing and hunting trips and the many things he and his brother would do when they were younger that go them into trouble. I am really glad I had to time to meet and spend with Don and his family. I am going to miss him. ❤️

To Don, a kind gentleman who was deeply committed to his family, and to his personal and intimate relationship with Jesus. What Jay and I admire about Don the most is his deep love for Mary, Dan and Nicky. Always putting his confidence in Jesus, his faith was unshakable, and he inspired and encouraged others to believe in the gospel message of the love that God has for us, and to embrace the teachings of Jesus found in the scriptures. He would always quote from Philippians 4:4,"Rejoice in the Lord always - again I will say, rejoice"!
As a great and long-time friend to Jay and me, we shared many conversations about a mutual love for gardening, Amish markets, baseball, and scriptural teachings. Jay and I will forever miss his words of inspiration and encouragement typically shared as the Holy Spirit led him, and his daily email reflections always detailed and heartfelt. We will miss tomatoes and parsley from Don's garden, and we will especially miss Don's homemade meatballs, so awesome!
Don maintained his walk with Jesus by living by the expounded words of the Apostle Paul: "Let love be sincere; hate what is evil, hold onto what is good; love one another with mutual affection; anticipate one another in showing honor. Do not grow slack in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the holy ones, extending hospitality." Romans 12: 9-12
His spiritual journey here on Earth ends with Jesus saying to him: "Well done, my good and faithful servant." Matthew 25: 23
We love you, Don. Enjoy your peace my dear brother in Christ!

Mary and Dan,
We were saddened to hear of Don's passing into everlasting life, but joyful for him. He was a very special person and man of God. We marveled at the way he could bring God's goodness and love into every situation he was in.
May God's peace be with the two of you now.
Our love to the three of you,
Deacon Mike and Mary Woodall

I will miss Don's teachings at prayer group, his daily emails of God's message and our sharing of music. He is now worshipping and praising the Lord! If Don sings off key, it's God's fault, as God made him that way.
