Obituary of Day Chen
Obituary for Day Htoo Chen, 85, Spring City, PA.
Day Chen born in the small village of Taungoo, Myanmar (Burma), passed away on September 21, 2025 at the age of 85. She was the beloved daughter of Myat Htoo and Aye Sha, and is survived by her cherished daughter, Christine Covington Chen; sons, David Chen and Dennis Chen; grandsons, Alec and Aiden Chen; granddaughters, Summer and San San Covington-Chen; and three siblings who remain in Burma.
Day was a woman of remarkable resilience and faith. With God's help, she immigrated to the United States in 1977, bringing with her a deep love for her homeland, her family, and her Christian faith. Her heart and spirit never strayed far from the village of her birth.
A devoted Christian, she spread the teachings of Jesus with kindness and grace, often sharing her favorite Bible passages with family and friends. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lansdale, PA, where she found a second home among fellow believers.
Professionally, she worked as a nurse in Burma, caring for those in need with compassion and dedication. Upon moving to the United States, she found new purpose as a sewing machine operator, demonstrating the same meticulous care and work ethic that she had shown throughout her life.
In her personal life, Day was a woman of many talents and passions. She was an amazing cook, particularly known for her flavorful Burmese dishes that brought comfort and joy to all who had the privilege of tasting them. She also had a love for gardening, tending to her plants with the same nurturing spirit that defined her. Knitting was another hobby she enjoyed, often creating beautiful, handmade gifts for those she loved.
Her legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. Day will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
