Obituary of John S. Grispon

John S. Grispon of Royersford, PA, passed away on January 11, 2026.

John was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Mauger) Grispon, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. He was the devoted son of the late John J. Grispon and Dora May (Altomare) Grispon.

John was a proud graduate of St. Bridget’s School, Roman Catholic High School, Class of 1964, and Villanova University, Class of 1968. He was a licensed insurance broker and the owner of Pennswood Insurance Agency in Philadelphia.

Deeply committed to public service and his community, John served as Chairman of the Royersford Republican Committee and as a Republican Committeeman. He dedicated 17 years to the Spring-Ford Area School Board, serving as both President and Vice President. His leadership extended throughout Montgomery County, where he served as President of the Western Montgomery County Vocational/Technical School and President of the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit. John was also a member of the Pennsylvania School Boards Association and served as a Representative to the Federal Relations Network of the National School Boards Association.

John was an active member of the Spring City American Legion Post #602 Baseball, Inc., serving on its Executive Board in roles including Secretary, scoreboard operator, and press box volunteer.

John is survived by his son, John R. Grispon (Nicole Leader) of Allentown, and his granddaughter, Vivian Sabrine Grispon. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Marie McFarlane, and brothers, Michael Grispon and Charles Grispon. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews: Patti Fox, Lisa Montinez (Alex), Kellie Bellini (Matthew), James McFarlane Jr., and Derrick Roberts. He is further survived by three great-nephews, Ryan, Aaron, and Logan; three great-nieces, Brianna, Macy, and Aria; and three great-great-nieces, Maeve, Tallula, and Faye.

John was preceded in death by his siblings, William, Thomas, and Julieann Grispon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to Spring City American Legion Post #602 Baseball, Inc., P.O. Box 504, Royersford, PA 19468.

A visitation will be held on January 20, 2026, at 9:30 AM at Grace Luthern Church, 594 Church Street #1, Royersford, PA 19468. A service will be held immediatley after at 11:00 AM.
