Kathy Colleen Orlando, 83, Phoenixville
Kathy Colleen Orlando, 83, of Phoenixville, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Phoenixville Hospital.
Born November 17, 1942, in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mildred (Mildenberger) Reber. A graduate of Reading High School, Kathy met and fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Frank. They were married on June 27, 1964, and shared more than 60 years of marriage together.
In 1978, Kathy and Frank moved with their sons, Jeff and Chris, to Phoenixville when Frank accepted the position of principal at Schuylkill Elementary School. Kathy began her career as a legal secretary before joining Videotek, where she served as Human Resources Manager until her retirement.
Kathy especially enjoyed spending time in Ocean City, MD where she loved relaxing with a glass of wine while watching the sunset. She was an avid sports fan who took great pride in cheering on her children throughout their athletic careers. Kathy and Frank also enjoyed attending Penn State Nittany Lions football games and were devoted followers of Philadelphia sports teams. Kathy was also known as a card shark; she loved all card games and won most of the ones she played. One of Kathy’s greatest pleasures was when her sons friends would come to the house where she could hold court and share many a story. Kathy was a longtime dog mom and her current pup, Chance, brought her tremendous happiness, a non-lap, lapdog at its finest. The two were inseparable.
In addition to her beloved husband, Frank Orlando, she is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Orlando of Cary, North Carolina, her four cherished grandchildren, Harrison, Carson, Jillian, and Regan Orlando, and Christopher Orlando (Vivian Herrera) of Stamford, Connecticut. She is also survived by her siblings, Robin Sigmund (Scott) and John Reber, as well as several nieces and nephews. Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Nancy.
