Obituary of Bonnie Jeanne Mauger
Bonnie Jeanne Mauger, 79, N. Coventry
Bonnie Mauger, 79, beloved wife of Michael Mauger, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Center after a valiant battle with cancer.
Born on Halloween, October 31, 1946, in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Regina (Houp) Moyer. Bonnie was raised on her family’s farm in Earl Township, where she developed a lifelong love of the outdoors. She later settled in North Coventry, where she became an active and devoted member of the community, especially at Cedarville United Methodist Church.
As the oldest of eight children, Bonnie naturally embraced her role as a caring and responsible older sister. She graduated from Kutztown University and went on to dedicate more than 35 years as the librarian, mostly at Gilbertsville Elementary School, where she spent her professional life nurturing a love of reading in others before retiring in 2004.
Bonnie had a passion for skiing and was a proud member of the Flying Dutchmen Ski Club. Above all, she cherished her family. She shared a loving marriage with her husband, Michael, since 1976, and found her greatest joy in their life together. Her yard was a sanctuary, carefully curated with flowers that attracted the birds she loved to watch from her porch.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, David Michael (Jennifer) and Robert Harvey (Katie); and six grandchildren, Patrick, Kellie, Vincent, Wyatt, Sabrina, and Kevin. She is also survived by her seven siblings: sisters Linda, Jane, Patricia, and Carol; brothers Bill, Bob, and Charlie; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 18, at Cedarville United Methodist Church, 1092 Laurelwood Road, Pottstown, with Rev. Pat Goshert and Rev. Mike Remel officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family prior to the service from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Burial of ashes will immediately follow the service at Limerick Garden of Memories, 44 E. Arcadia Dr. Limerick. Following the burial a celebration of life luncheon will be held at the Pottstown ELKS Lodge, 61 E. High St. Pottstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Cedarville United Methodist Church.
