Obituary of Brian Tyson

Brian Tyson, 65, of Gilbertsville, PA, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest due to complications after heart surgery.

Born in Pottstown, Brian was the son of late Willis and Jacquelyn (Reppert) Tyson.  He spent most of his life in Lower Pottsgrove and Gilbertsville and was the loving husband of Shannon (Fillman) Tyson and adoring father of Devyn Tyson.

Brian was a graduate of Spring-Ford High School and attended Berklee College of Music.  Since the age of 5, Brian has been playing in bands with his longtime friends, Steve Carlisle and Tim Friel.  He enjoyed playing bass guitar in “Don’t Ask” and “Warpside,” to name a few, and recording in his studio.

Brian cherished his many friendships.  His favorite past-time was kicking back with his beloved family and laughing until late into the night.  Brian loved anything with a motor.  He loved snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle, owning fast cars and watching Formula 1 racing.  Brian’s family-owned Tyson Pontiac Cadillac when he was young, which began his love for cars.

He was employed in the entertainment industry. His favorite movies he worked on were “Titanic” and “Sixth Sense” where he created the breath effect you saw on screen.  Brian also was the National Sales Director for Upstage Video, later renamed, “ChoiceLIVE” and most recently Director of Special Projects for Mountain Productions.

In addition to his wife, Shannon, he is survived by his loving daughter, Devyn Tyson (Steve Fody); sisters, Tracey Walsh (Shaun) and Jodi Evans (Bryan); brother, Darryl Tyson (Beth); stepson, Mason Lynch (Nikki); many nieces and nephews and his beloved cats, Enzo and Tiny.
