Obituary of Pamela R. McHugh
Pamela McHugh, of Pottstown, PA, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, with her family by her bedside.
Born in Margaretville, New York, Pamela spent her early years surrounded by family and creating cherished memories.
Pamela devoted most of her life to caring for her family, especially her children and grandchildren, whom she adored. She will be remembered for her kindness, her deep love for her grandchildren, and her unmistakable honesty. She was known for speaking her mind and was admired for her authenticity and strength. She also had a special gift with animals and was often described as an “animal whisperer,” as animals in need always seemed to find their way to her. There wasn’t a child or animal in need that she wouldn’t take in and nurture.
Above all, Pamela will be remembered for the care she showed to everyone she knew and for the quiet way she taught life lessons, guiding others without ever telling them what to do. Her warmth, compassion, and strength left a lasting impact on all who knew and loved her.
Pamela is survived by her husband, David McHugh, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage; her son, Todd Harris (Jennifer); her daughter, Robin Wilfong (Brian); and Lori McHugh, whom she raised as a daughter. She is also survived by her grandson, Aaron Harris (Amy); her three great-grandchildren, Vanille, Auron, and Tidus; her niece, Jordan Herb (Jake) and their daughters Aubrey and Kinsley Herb; her sister, Geraldine Hord, as well as many loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Richard Balcom; her stepmother, Dorothy Balcom; and her mother, Sophie Scandalis.
A celebration of Pamela’s life will be held in the coming weeks, with details to be shared once finalized. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Pamela's honor to the Montgomery County SPCA.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
