John Tobinus, Jr., 59, of Pottstown
John Tobinus, Jr., 59, tragically passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born on February 8, 1967, in Norristown, John was one of three children born to the late John Tobinus, Sr. and the late Theresa (Defrangesco) Tobinus. A lifelong resident of Norristown, he was a proud graduate of Norristown High School, Class of 1985.
John was known for his fun-loving personality, kind heart, and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone he met. To John, there were no strangers—only friends he had not yet met. A natural tinkerer, he was always working on a project and enjoyed fixing, building, and collecting just about anything that sparked his interest. He loved spending time outdoors, exploring flea markets in search of hidden treasures, and sharing life with his beloved dog, Val.
While John enjoyed many hobbies and interests, his greatest joy came from his family. Of all the roles he held throughout his life, the ones he cherished most were those of husband, father, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife, Courtney (Bono) Tobinus; his two daughters, Rachael Tobinus and Hannah Tobinus; his brother, Travis Tobinus; his sister, Darlene Tobinus; nieces, Kayla and Emily; and nephews, Trey and Chase. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father, John Tobinus, Sr., and his mother, Theresa Tobinus.
A Prayer Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Shalkop, Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge Street, Spring City, with Rev. John Gibbons officiating.
