Obituary of John E. Yusko

John  E. Yusko, 90, Pottstown

John Yusko, 90,  husband to Mary L. (Urner) Yusko passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2026 in the Paoli Hospital.

John was born May 3, 1936 in Pottstown to the late  John Yusko and the late Evelyn (Lichtley) .  A hard worker, John began his career at Mrs. Smith’s Pie Company at the early age of 16 to help his family.  He served our country for two years in the Navy but was able to go back to Mrs. Smith’s and finish out his 44-year career of dedication.  John married the love of his life, Mary, on September 2, 1961. 

John believed life was to be enjoyed, he was a great dancer and would even stay out on the dance floor long after Mary was ready to leave.  He cherished family and would put family before himself.  Family events and dates mattered to him.  John kept a handwritten diary on the walls of his shed in the backyard. He wrote about himself but also marked every milestone that would happen in our lives. It has over 50 years of important dates and memories. He also was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; son Allen D. Yusko (Terri); daughter Holly Y. Watts; grandchildren Matthew Witherow (Mandee), Kevin Yusko (Katie), and Grace Watts; great-granddaughter Ellie Yusko; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brothers, and an infant son, John D. Yusko.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 10, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 952 Bethel Church Road, Spring City. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the church.
