Obituary of Kathleen B. Wheeler
Kathleen B. Wheeler, 81, of Limerick
Kathleen B. Wheeler, 81, widow of the late John Holingjak, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Arcadia at Limerick Pointe. Fittingly, Independence Day was Kathleen's favorite holiday, and after many years living courageously with Parkinson's disease and dementia, she is now at peace.
Born on May 25, 1945, in Pottstown, Kathleen was the daughter of the late Stanley Wheeler and the late Helen (Adamski) Wheeler. She was a graduate of St. Pius X High School.
Kathleen began her career with Continental Bank, now PNC Bank, where she warmly greeted customers with a welcoming smile as a bank teller. Through her dedication and hard work, she advanced to the position of staff officer, building lasting relationships with both customers and colleagues.
Kathleen and John shared more than 30 wonderful years together. They loved traveling and were fortunate to see much of the world, including a memorable trip to Russia. During the summer months, they cherished weekends away in their RV, enjoying the peace and relaxation of their favorite campgrounds.
Affectionately known as "Bubbie," a nickname lovingly given to her by her grandson, Sean, Kathleen will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering love, and steadfast devotion to her family. She was especially dedicated to her son, the late Timothy Wheeler, and always put the needs of those she loved before her own.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara Grofe wife of the late Robert Grofe, Ephrata; daughter-in-law, Christine Wheeler of Limerick; her niece, Barbara Grofe Mason and her husband, Larry Mason; her great-nephew, Tyler Bornstad and his wife, Abby; her great-great nephew Robert Bornstad and her longtime friend, Marie Eachus of Florida.
In addition to her husband, Kathleen was preceded in death by her beloved son, Timothy Wheeler, and her grandson, Sean Wheeler.
Friends are invited to her Memorial service at the Good Shepherd Mausoleum at Limerick Garden of Memories on July 25, 2026 at 11:00. Visitation will begin at 10 AM prior to the service. The Rev. John Gibbons will officiate. Interment will be immediately following.
