Obituary of Lynn A. Donohue

Lynn Donohue of Kennebunk, ME, passed away on August 9th following a brief illness, surrounded by her family. She will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her generosity, and her kindness.

Lynn was the daughter of the late Donald and Eloise Donohue of Pottstown, PA. She is survived by her brother, Brian Donohue and his wife, Lorraine, of Royersford, PA; her sister, Brenda Verdesi and her husband, Paul, of Holmes, NY, and their sons, Jacob and Benjamin; and her sister, Mary Hampton and her husband, Walt, of Lexington, SC, their children, Jessica, Walter, and James, and grandchildren, Jack and Isaac. She is also survived by her close friend, Andrew Clauer of Gorham, ME.

Lynn was a graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School in Pottstown, PA. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, DE, and later graduated cum laude from Pace University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree.

Lynn enjoyed a distinguished career as an attorney and was admitted to practice law in Maine, New Hampshire, and New York. Most recently, she was an attorney with Drummond Woodsum in Portland, ME, where she focused on commercial and residential real estate.

Lynn was committed to giving back to her community. She volunteered with Partners for World Health in Portland, ME and served on its Board of Directors. She also volunteered at Holmes Camp and Retreat Center in Holmes, NY, participating in work days and supporting the center.

Lynn's family and friends will treasure the memories they shared—the laughter, travels, gatherings, and special moments that made her such an important part of their lives. Her cats, Mickey and Molly, held a special place in her heart and brought her great joy.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A graveside service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Spring City, PA, on Saturday, August 15th, at 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at State Street Church UCC in Portland, ME, on August 29th at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lynn’s memory to the Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk, ME; Holmes Camp & Retreat Center in Holmes, NY; or Partners for World Health in Portland, ME.
