William Kirkwood Jr. , 82, Phoenixville, PA

William Kirkwood, Jr. , 82, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026, surrounded by love.

Born July 1, 1944, in Juniata Park, William was the youngest son of the late Corinne (Harris) Kirkwood. He lived most of his life in the Philadelphia area before moving to Phoenixville, where he resided for the past 15 years with his spouse, Richard L. Scott.

Creative by nature and drawn to beautiful things, Bill entered the jewelry industry during high school. He learned the art of working with jewelry and became skilled in designing and crafting exquisite pieces of fine jewelry. Throughout his career, he owned three jewelry stores. In his later years,  Bill transitioned into retail, working as a merchandiser for Godiva and Papyrus/American Greetings.

Bill had a love for travel and explored much of the world, including the Mediterranean, Europe, Russia and the Baltic States with his husband. He also proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a U.S. Navy Airman.

Bill leaves behind his faithful spouse of 29 years, Richard L. Scott; 

his sister, Joyce MacEldowney, wife of Don; 

niece, Kelly MacEldowney;

brother, Robert Kirkwood, husband of Janet; 

sister-in-law, Jennifer Adkins, wife of Phillip; and their children, Hannah, Abigail and Katniss,

nieces Katherine Kirkwood,  Alex Foley wife of Steve;

nephew David, husband of Rene along with other great nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM (Noon) on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at R. Strunk Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Phoenixville. A viewing will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Sunday, August 23, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Private Military Honors Interment will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
