Obituary of June D. Seger

Please share a memory of June to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

June Dolores Seger (née Weller), 97, passed away peacefully at her home in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

June was born in Holden, Massachusetts on November 6, 1925, as the third of six children to Arnold Clare Weller and Ruth Marjorie Weller (née Slocum).  She spent her youth in Rutland, Massachusetts before marrying her husband, Daniel Bailey Seger, also of Rutland, Massachusetts, on October 18, 1944.  In their 63 years of marriage, June and Dan traveled extensively and lived in many places prior to Dan’s death in 2008.  June and Dan had two children and were very loving and active with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  June’s greatest joy was in time spent with her family.  She enjoyed family gatherings and trips, baking her famous scones, and celebrating all of life’s milestones with her loved ones.  June was known for being a great bridge player and she found much joy in this activity into her nineties.  Together with Dan, June was very social and enjoyed many life-long friendships.  Throughout their marriage, June and Dan were loving and generous to their family and friends, frequently offering support to those in need.

June was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel, and four of her siblings.  She is survived by her children, Wanda (Jim) Benard of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania and Daniel (Michelle) Seger, Jr, of Roswell, Georgia, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her sister, Audrey Martin of Colorado.

June will be laid to rest together with Dan following a small, private ceremony at The Massachusetts National Cemetery in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
