Obituary of Suzanne S Hanebury

Suzanne (Stauder) Hanebury, age 85, wife of the late John Stevenson Hanebury of Spring City, PA died on Wednesday at her residence. She was born in Philadelphia a daughter of the late Julius and Elsie (Jones) Stauder. Mrs. and Mr. Hanebury celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June of 2007, she was a long time resident of Spring City. She was a graduate of the former Spring City High School and attended Ursinus College and a graduate of Drexel Institute of Technology (Drexel University). Mrs. Hanebury was employed as training and personnel director for the former Lit Bros. Department Store of Philadelphia, she than taught Retail Management in the graduate school of Temple University and taught Fashion Merchandising at the former Spring Garden Institute of Philadelphia. She was also employed as a substitute teacher for the Spring Ford School District; she owned and operated an Antique Business in Lancaster County. Mrs. Hanebury was an active member of the Spring City United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher in the Beginners and Junior Department, past president of the Women's Society, and served on various committees within the church. She was former member of the Spring City Park and Recreation Committee, Spring City Library Board, the Antiquates Club, East Norriton Questers Group, Spring Ford Women's Club, and the Spring Ford Historical Society. She is survived by daughter in law Cynthia Hanebury of Collegeville and predeceased by son: John S. Hanebury Jr. Her Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Sunday April 18, 2010 at 3pm at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Parkerford. Rev. Kerry Bart officiating.
