Obituary of Betty E. Latshaw

Betty E. Latshaw, 92, Spring City Betty E. (Keeley) Latshaw, 92, widow of the late C. Albert Latshaw, died Friday, January 26, 2018 in Sanatoga Center. She was born in Phoenixville to the late Paul Robert and the late Emma Lydia Keeley, Sr. Betty was a __year____ graduate of ____?___ high school. After graduation, Betty met and married Albert. They resided in Spring City and loved to be a part of the community this included being a member of the 1st UCC Church, Spring City. Betty was a bank teller for the Spring City National Bank and Elverson National Bank in Bucktown. It would not be uncommon to see her smiling face at the drive thru on a Friday night when you were cashing your check. Betty's hobbies included refinishing furniture and bowling. She was an avid bowler and was in a bowling league until she was 90 years old. At 85 she bowled a 200. After retiring from her leagues, it was not uncommon for her to still go to bowling just to watch. Betty was a loving mother and devoted grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves behind her three children: Paul Latshaw (husband of Sunghae) Wynnewood, Betty Lightcap of Spring City and David Latshaw of Paloma, CA. Five grandchildren: Christopher Latshaw (husband of Anna), David Gaugler (husband of Holly), Scott Zielinski, Andrew Zielinski, Sara Latshaw; two great grandchildren: Avery and Adalynn Gaugler; and a brother: Paul Robert Keeley, Jr. of Spring City. She was preceded in death by her sister Evelyn Shive. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, February 1, 2018 in Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 135 Bridge Street, Spring City. With the Rev. Erick Kern officiating. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 PM Wednesday, January 31 and 10:00 – 11:00 AM Thursday, February 1 prior to the service in the funeral home. Burial will be immediately following in the Brownback's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Spring City. All arrangements are being handled by Shalkop, Grace & Strunk FH.
