Obituary of Joseph Thomas Durning

Joseph Thomas Durning, age 86 husband of the late Nancy (Coleman) Durning died on Saturday March 26, 2011, in the Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville. He was born in West Philadelphia a son of the late Daniel and Kathryn (Gallagher) Durning.
Joseph resided most of his life in Trooper, PA, he was a resident of the South eastern Veterans Ceneter in Spring City for the past year.
He was a 1942 graduate of West Catholic High School, and also a graduate of LaSalle University with a degree in Business Administration. He was employed for many years in Sales for various companies in the area. A veteran of the United States Navy serving during World WarII in the European Theatre. Joseph was a member of Visitation BVM Church in Trooper and he enjoyed building model airplanes and model ships and he was a talentated artist.
He is survived by four daughters: Karen wifeof Quinn Vitelli of Collegeville, Mary Ellen wife of Brad Graves of Sutton, MA, Beth Ann Durning of royersford, and Stacie Durning of Phoenixville. And a son: Robert J. Durning of Eddystone, PA. And Five grandchildren. He is predeceased by a son: Joseph Thomas Durning Jr. and sister: Catherine Redd and brother: Daniel Durning.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday at 11:15am at the Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, Bridge and Church Streets, Spring City PA. The Rev. FDonato P. Silveri will officiate. Burial to follow with Military Honors in The Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenhem, PA. His viewing will be held Wednesday mornign at the funeral home from 10-11am.
