Obituary of Linwood Kolb

Linwood Kolb age 79, husband of Alverda (Blank) Kolb of East Vincent Township died on Wednesday evening in the Phoenixville Hospital.
He was born in Spring City to the late Samuel and the late Helen (Clemmer) Kolb. Linwood attended the former Locust Grove School House in East Vincent
Linwood was a partner of Kolb Brothers Meats in East Vincent and also worked on his family owned farm. He was a member of Vincent Mennonite Church where he served as a past Trustee. Linwood was a very active member and Life member of the Ridge Fire Company where he served as assistant Chief from 1954-1959 then Chief from 1959-1989 and then a deputy chief for 12 years.
He was a Life member of the Liberty Fire Company in Spring City, and a member the Chester County Firemen's association. And also volunteered with the Goodwill Ambulance of Pottstown for several years. He also was a member of the Carsontown Rod and Gun Club, and Life member the National Rifleman's Association, some his interests were hunting, fishing and spending time at his family cabin and at the beach and he was always looking forward to his time he spent with his grandchildren and family.
He is survived by two daughters: Karen wife of Anthony Hydutsky of Pottstown and Kyle wife of Joseph Kealey of Denver, PA, and three sons: Roalnd husband of Kathie of East Coventry, Roger husband of Debbie of East Coventry and Ray husband of Lori of east Coventry. And 10 grandchildren: Kristen wife of Jim McMillan, Amanda, Ryan, Matthew, Zachary, Adam, Jason, Rachael, Megan, Alyssa. And two great grandchildren: Eric and Jacob and Sisters: Phyllis, Wilma, Emily, Gail. And a brother: Russell and preceded in death by sister: Evelyn and brothers: Wayne and Glenn
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday in the Vincent Mennonite Church, 39 Seven Stars Road, Spring City. With the Pastor Tim Moyer officiating. Burial to follow in the Vincent Mennonite Cemetery, Spring City
His viewing will be held from 6:00 PM - 8:30PM Sunday evening and 9:00-10:30am Monday morning at the church. Memorial gifts may be made in his memory to the Vincent Mennonite Church to the above address or the Ridge Fire Company 480 Ridge Road Spring City, PA 19475.
