I had only recently started to get to know Mark as a volunteer with the school marching band. It seemed he was going out of his way to make sure I felt valued and welcomed. Reading these tributes I can see that he wasn’t going out of his way at all: it WAS his way. I’m sorry I didn’t get to know him for longer but grateful I got to know him a little bit. Sending much love to Ron, Spencer and all his friends & family.

Although I only had the pleasure of meeting Mark in person once, we had had a online friendship for several years through the homebrewing community. Just as Mark was a skilled homebrewer with a wealth of knowledge, it was obvious he had a passion for all he set out to do, and he touched many lives. He will be missed.
Ron and Spencer, from another of Mark's fake internet friends, I am sorry for your loss.

Mark will really missed by his work family. He was just a fantastic person to work with in every way. One of the smartest people I ever met, and one of the nicest. We are all heartbroken at Nestle.

I only knew Mark through a silly beer group-chat forum of which he was a valued member. A group of imaginary internet friends with a shared interest in good beer and better banter.
He is without doubt, one of the funniest, wittiest and smartest bloke I've ever had the good fortune to interact with. I feel very fortunate to have known him, in even a limited capacity. His generosity was without par and I was fortunate to have sampled his sublime homebrew; some of the most skillfully crafted and delicious beer I've ever had. I'm deeply saddened to hear of his passing.
It is only words from a total internet stranger but I want to offer my deepest condolences and sympathies to Ron, Spencer and the rest of Mark's family.
Rest in Peace Mark (aka The Bee Guy). You will be missed by us all.

If there was one thing that stood out to me about Mark, it was his enthusiastic commitment to his family. I can recall seeing him and Ron around school regularly since Spencer was in kindergarten...such a great couple and awesome parents. I wish there were more like him in this world, just a great all around human. He will be missed by many.

Mark and Ron are one of the few of us left as original home owners on Mallard Circle South. We watched him build his deck, his flower boxes, paint their front door. Mark and I were on the first Home Owners Association Board together. Mark lived life to the fullest and so does Ron and Spencer. Mark could light up a room with his smile. Mark was so thoughtful making sure he accommodated everyone's dietary needs when he baked his delicious Christmas cookies delivering them to us right before Christmas all beautifully labeled. Mark had the best laugh, nice and hearty. And we loved to laugh loud together.
Mark could carry a conversation and I'm sure might have been the smartest person in the room at times but he was so easy to talk too about any topic.
Mark loved his family, his community and his friends. He jumped in and was a true leader. He walked around our neighborhood every day and often with his beloved dog Miley. Mark's greatest love was Ron and their son Spencer. The three of them went everywhere together- dinner, movies, amazing trips and Spencer's activities. Mark was invited in all of Spencer's activities always taking a lead position as a volunteer to help wherever he could.
We will miss Mark greatly in our neighborhood and as you can see from the pictures I have attached, our lives. Forever in our thoughts and hearts. Eileen, Rich and Amanda

So saddened and heartbroken to hear the news of Mark's passing. Though I haven't seen him in person in many years (since Ron served on the 2009 Philly Family Pride board and they graciously hosted us in their home for a board meeting), we interacted frequently on Facebook, especially around our mutual love of hoppy beers. Sending all the love from me and the entire Philly Family Pride family to Ron and Spencer.

It was a privilege to have known Mark not only as a friend and neighbor, but also as a fellow leader in the Scouting Community (Pack 119 and Troop 58).
Mark was a humble and generous man and always gave his all.
For many years Mark was a very active scout leader. He always put that extra effort in to help the boys be successful in whatever they were doing. He enjoyed the outdoors and would rarely miss a camping trip, service project, meeting, or other fun activity.
Thank you Mark!
