Obituary of Dennis J Grabowski Sr.

Dennis James Grabowski Sr., aged  77,  beloved husband to the late Carole Grabowski,  passed away Sunday December 01, 2019 at the Sanatoga Center .

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on November 5^th, 1942, to the late Chester and Rose Grabowski, Dennis went on to play football and basketball in high school.  He also enjoyed the spotlight of the stage, performing in many plays and musicals, and even earning awards for his acting abilities.  After high school, he chose a career path serving in the United States Navy from 1962 – 1968, achieving the title of Master-at-Arms.  Following his military service, Dennis became an award-winning salesman for O.M. Scotts & Sons, from 1971 through 1984.

Dennis loved spending time in the great outdoors, where he pursued his favorite hobbies of hunting, fishing, and boating.  He especially loved Labrador Retrievers, and eventually learned to professionally train them.  Several hunting magazines featured articles highlighting his successful dog-training skills.

In his retirement years, he enjoyed smoking a good cigar, and showing off his impressive finds from many years of metal detecting.  He enjoyed the quiet solitude of metal-detecting and was fascinated by the history his finds would reveal.

Above all, Dennis was a wonderful husband and father, whose love lives on in the family he leaves behind, including Dennis James Grabowski II (Son), Darlene Joan Kupetz (daughter), Derek Dennis Grabowski (grandson), Kate Grabowski (daughter-in-law), and Edward Kupetz (son-in-law).

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held on Thursday, December 12, from 5:00 to 6:30, at The Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge St., Spring City, PA 19475.  Following the visitation, a memorial service for both Dennis and Carole will be held at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Thornhill officiating.  A dinner at Copperfield Inn at Lakeside, 594 W. Ridge Pike, Limerick, PA 19468 will be held following the service.  The burial will be held privately on Friday, December 13.
