Obituary of Thomas E. Flynn
Thomas "Tom" E. Flynn, 78, formerly Rockland County, NY
Thomas Flynn, 78, husband to Marguerite (Crescenzo) Flynn, formerly of Rockland County, New York, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Phoenixville Hospital.
Tom was born January 11, 1942 in Queens to John and Elizabeth (Wenzel) Flynn. A 1959 graduate of Nyack High School, Tom was proud of being the center for his high school football team and was a great basketball player. He made many life-long friends from those experiences. After high school, he found a job in the booming Rockland County construction industry working sales and project management for United Millwork and continued there after his time serving our country in the US Army from 1964 to 1966.
Tom and Marguerite were married on October 5th, 1969. They created a wonderful family home where they renovated an old dairy barn from the 1860’s into a perfect house to raise a family. After retirement, Tom and Peg moved to Pennsylvania where they could be closer to family. Tom enjoyed watching football, drinking Diet Coke, and, most importantly, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marguerite; and his son Matthew Flynn (Megan); a brother, Jack Flynn of LeCanto, FL; and four grandchildren: Olivia, Christopher, Michael, and Zachary. He is predeceased by his parents and brother, Richard Flynn.
