Virginia J.E. (Howard) Newett, Royersford
Virginia “Ginny” Newett, widow of the late Thomas "Barney" Newett, passed away Tuesday January 11, 2021 in Seasons Hospice Phoenixville, PA.
She was born October 22, 1933 in Upper Providence to the late John Howard and the late Lucy Mae Howard. Ginny lived in the Royersford area her entire life. She graduated in 1952 from Spring Ford High School and married the love of her life Barney, on March 28, 1968. After high school Ginny worked at Phoenixville hospital in the Pharmacy. Followed by a job at Philco Ford in Spring city and Lansdale, testing electrical components. You may recognize her face as the crossing guard at 5th Avenue and Main Street in Royersford, a job she loved for many years. Ginny was a wonderful mother to her two daughters: Nadine and Colleen. She was a member of the Friendship fire Company in Royersford. Ginny loved all animals and fed all the neighborhood birds and squirrels on a daily basis. She was especially fond of bears and her cat Molly.
She leaves behind her daughters: Nadine Newett- Doman (Joseph) of Limerick, PA, and Colleen Clements (Jim) of Gray Court, SC. Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Barney her brother Sidney Howard, her sister Naomi Howard, as well as many beloved lifelong friends and family members.
Funeral Service and Burial will be private in the St. Anns Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
