Algert D Alexis, Jr, 79 Algert Daniel Alexis, Jr, 79, husband of the late Mary (Bohan) Alexis, of Scotch Plains, NJ, died Saturday in the Golden Living Center, Phoenixville. He was born in San Diego to the late Rear Admiral Algert D and the late Mabel (Glenn) Alexis. Mr. Alexis resided most of his life in Scotch Plains, New Jersey; he was a graduate of Christ Church School in Christ Church, Virginia, he also attended the RCA Institute of Camden, New Jersey. He served in the Naval Reserves. Mr. Alexis was employed for over thirty years as an Engineer for the former Bell Laboratories in various locations in New Jersey until his retirement. He was a member the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Scotch Plains. NJ. He enjoyed fishing, sailing and building ship models and electronics. He is survived by his daughter: Ann wife of Ron Hayes of Reston, VA and two sons: Michael husband of Kathryn Vick of East Coventry, PA and Mark husband of Siobhan Byrne of Wellington, Florida. And 3 grandchildren: Gregory, Sean and Aidan Alexis. And his sister: Diane Rifflemacher. Preceded in death by his brother: Donald Alexis. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Friday 11/6/09 at 11:00AM at the Zion Lutheran Church, Rt. 724 and Bonnie Brae Road Spring City. The Rev. Paul Townsend officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Gertrude Catholic Cemetery, Colonia, New Jersey. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made in his memory to the Seasons Hospice 700 S. Henderson Rd. Suite 225 King of Prussia PA 19406 The Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, Spring City is handling the arrangements online condolences may be made at sgsfuneralhomne.
