Obituary of Byron Charles Rick

Byron C. Rick, husband of Deborah (Parfitt) Rick of Pottstown died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, May 19, 2013. He was the son of the late Charles A. and Ethel M. (Briel) Rick. He was 50 years old.
At the time of his passing, Byron was employed by Venezia Transport, Inc., Pottstown, for more than 20 years. His career in the transportation industry also included positions with Ames Inc. and Fanelli Trucking. He was a 1981 graduate of Pottsgrove Senior High School and attended Kutztown University.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his son, Charles A. Rick of Pottstown; his daughter, Joenelle L. Rick of Pottstown; grandchildren, Ji'aire L. Rick and Janiyah L. Rick; sisters, Donna M., wife of Craig Kamp of Shoemakersville and Darlene K., wife of Todd Lemon of Lake Bomoseen, VT; a half-sister, Donna Eckenrode, wife of Edward Eckenrode of Pottstown; nephews, John, Andy & Dylan Drost, David Duncan, Luke & Logan Kamp; a niece, Tori Buchter, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Ivory, Shakespeare, Bacardi and Zoe.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11am on Saturday, May 25, at St Vincent United Church of Christ, 137 Ridge Road, Phoenixville. Family and friends may call on Friday, May 24, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge Street, Spring City and from 10am to 11am Saturday at the church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
