Obituary of Michael Finochio
Michael Finochio, 77, Reading
Michael Finochio, 77, beloved husband to Marie (Sorrentino) Finochio, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Reading Hospital.
The only boy, Michael, was born in Philadelphia January 16, 1944 to the late Enrico Finochio and the late Anna DiTomasso Finochio.
Full of life and spirit, Mike was a friend to all. He was a storyteller, interacted well with people and always had a joke to tell. In 1981, one of his customers shared how his life could be different with Christ and he accepted Him as his Savior and his life was forever changed.
Mike was creative and talented. He loved singing and playing his guitar and enjoyed working on and racing his Dodge Challenger. His love of working with his hands eventually led him to a career in barbering, where he owned and operated “The Long and Short of It” in Philadelphia.
His most cherished title was Pop-Pop. He adored his family and they will always cherish birthday celebrations, holidays, and Sunday dinners together.
He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Marie Finochio, three children: Michael (Sharon) Finochio of West Chester, Michelle Miranto (Joel) of Douglassville and Marc (Suzy) Finochio of Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren: Joelle Fulmer (Cory), Erica Stengel (Richie), Anthony Finochio, Julie Miranto and Ashley Shook (Keston); one great granddaughter due in June and sister: Anna Marie Morrone (John) of Broomall. Preceded in death is his oldest sister: Tina Kulp.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 15 at MSTAR Church, 100 Limekiln Road, Bechtelsville, PA 19505 with Rev. Joel Miranto officiating.
Visitation with family will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Saturday, January 15 prior to the service at MSTAR Church.
