Gladys L. Sell, 91,
Gladys Sell, 91, widow of the late William F. Sell, Sr. passed away early Sunday morning, April 3, 2022 in the Pottstown Hospital - Tower Health.
She was born June 13, 1930 in Spring City to the late Brooke Littlefield and the late Hannah (Hughes) Littlefield. Gladys was a lifelong resident of Spring City. One of two children, Gladys graduated from the class of 1948 of Spring City High School. Soon after, she met and married the love of her life, the late William (Bill) Sell Sr. Bill initially lived at Majors Dairy in Royersford then he and Gladys moved to Spring City for several years before moving to Phoenixville where she and her husband raised their two children. Husband and wife were very active in the community, volunteering at Meals on Wheels, and the Spring Ford Historical Society. Gladys was a faithful member of the East Vincent UCC Church, including participating as a Deacon and Elder. She was not afraid of hard work, throughout her life she worked as a telephone operator, waitress at Sunny Brook Ballroom, the Springford Country Club and even worked for Dr. Harrop in his office. Her pride and joy were her family, especially her granddaughters.
Gladys leaves behind two sons: William F. Sell Jr. (husband of Barbara) Brooke E. Sell, (husband of Susan); two granddaughters, Ashleigh Melton (wife of Stephen) and Courtney Quaglia (wife of Matthew); Great grandchildren: Carson and Wyatt Melton; Sister Janet Slawecki (wife of Raymond)
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9:30 – 11:00 on Monday, April 11,2022 at the Shalkop, Grace & Strunk Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00. A private burial of ashes will take place at the Zion Lutheran Church cemetery.
