Obituary of Elena B. Mlinko

Elena B. Mlinko of Phoenixville, passed away on Sunday, June 26th.   She was 72.

Elena was one of 3 children born to Michael & Lidia Baszkiewicz.  She was born in Brazil, enroute to the United States during the family’s escape from communism in Russia.  The family arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during the early 1960’s. 

During her 18^th year, Elena married her late husband, Zsigmond Sandor Mlinko and they grew their family by four – 3 daughters and one son.  She forever devoted her time and heart to her family by making amazing dinners always from scratch (incredible perogies, stuffed cabbages and crepes were top of the list), taking care of her aging parents and cousins and always making sure every family member knew how treasured they were each and every birthday. 

Elena leaves behind her children: Paul (Rachel) Mlinko, Ange Mlinko, Linda Boyle and Jacqueline Charland; her grandchildren: Chase Mlinko, Hunter Mlinko, Stella Mlinko, Caleb Boyle, Jacob Mlinko and Gray McNamara, Nicole Charland; and her brother: Michael Bass.  She was preceded in death by her parents: Michael & Lidia Baszkiewicz; her husband: Zsigmond Sandor Mlinko; and her sister: Maria Czerwinski. 

Friends and family are invited to Elena’s services which are being held at St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church located at 316 Cassville Road, Jackson, NJ 08527 on Friday, July 1^st, with visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 am and Mass immediately to follow.  Interment will be at St. Vladimir Russian Orthodox Cemetery on the grounds of St. Mary’s church at the conclusion of Mass.
