Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Nancy  Catharine Sherron, 94,

Nancy Sherron, 94,  passed away Thursday August 25, 2022 in the Manatawny Manor.  Nancy was born February 10, 1928 in Philadelphia to the Late Irwin and the Late Gertrude (Aiken) Catharine.  The last surviving child of the Catharine Family of Philadelphia, Nancy’s father was a well-known Architect recognized for his unique design elements and has dozens of his buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.  Nancy was a graduate of Girls High and grew up in the Overbrook section of the city.   She married the Late James Sherron, Sr. and had four beautiful children.  After raising her family in Bucks County, she moved to Chester County where she spent the remainder of her years.

Nancy was an artist at heart and by vocation. She wrote poetry, stories and dabbled in song writing. She loved to paint, sew and knit. She loved music and received a scholarship to study Opera at the University of Pennsylvania. Following the untimely death of both parents, she left college before completing her degree but the love for singing never faded. Nancy became a single mom in the 1970s and began her career as a Designer for Ethan Allen. She was gifted at design and rose quickly to become the top Designer on the East Coast and trained many new designers.

Nancy lived and loved with a rare passion that radiated from her. She was outgoing and friendly with everyone she encountered, leaving everyone happier than before they met her. To Nancy, no one was a stranger. She loved every living thing with complete abandon whether it was as simple as a dandelion or as grand as elephant. She often left music on for her plants, talked with trees, loved to put her face to the wind and dip her toes in the sea. This love of all things was instilled in her family and is her greatest legacy.

Nancy leaves behind four children:  James Sherron, Jr. (Rosalind), Donald I. Sherron, William A. Sherron (Kimberly) and Susan G. Sherron Gallagher (Frank); seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers:  Irwin T. Catharine, Jr. and Joseph W. Catharine who died at age 2.
