Giuseppe Picone, 84, Spring City
Giuseppe Picone, 84, devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away Friday March 10, 2023 at home.
He was born December 25, 1938 in Carini, Sicily to the late Salvatore and the late Rosa (Misseri) Picone. One of seven children, Guiseppe enjoyed working on the farm in Sicily with his father. Even at an early age, he milked cows and worked in the garden. This didn’t afford him time for school, but Guiseppe worked hard and when he and his love, Antonina came to the United States, he worked for Canta Luna Pasta Company and Vilario’s Produce in Philadelphia. He retired from the Chester County Intermediate Unit where he worked in the Maintenance Department. During his retirement, he enjoyed a magnificent garden, full of produce that he loved to generously distribute to his family. He was so proud and loved his family.
Guiseppe leaves behind he adoring wife, Antonina of 65 years; seven children: Sons: Salvatore Picone, Vincenzo Picone, Anthony Picone (wife, Josie), Angelo Picone (wife Vera) and Daughters: Rosetta Gallina (Guiseppe),Giuseppe Armenise (Guistine) and Rosaria Ferguson; twenty grandchildren and eighteen Great Grandchildren. He is survived by his two brothers Cesare Picone from Tamaqua PA and Angelo Picone in Switzerland, as well as a sister Rosetta Gallina (huband Vito) from Sicily, Italy.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Monday March 20 in R. Strunk Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Phoenixville.
Visitation at the Funeral Home will be from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Monday, March 20 prior to the service at R. Strunk Funeral Home. Entombment will be immediately following in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum at Limerick Garden of Memories.
