Harry Stephen Barndt, 75, Bonita Springs, FL
Harry Stephen Barndt, 75, passed away Wednesday June 21, 2023 at home. Stephen born July 15, 1947 in Bryn Mawr to the late Charles L. Barndt Sr. and the late Miriam Wagoner Barndt was one of four children. A graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School in Chester County, PA, Stephen continued his education at Capital University, Columbus, Ohio, receiving a BA – Sociology major – Education Minor. Steve also attended Spring Garden College in Chestnut Hill, PA for Architectural Restoration.
Living a very active life made Steve the man he was today:
- As a Recreational Counselor for Silver Springs/Martin Luther School, Plymouth Meeting, PA
- Rifle Range Instructor for Camp Robin Hood, Freedom, NH
- Recreation Counselor for the Devereux Foundation, Devon, PA
- Field Sports Director for the Boy Scouts of America, Doylestown, PA
Steve held Instructors Ratings for:
The NRA, Archery – National Camping School BSA; Red Cross Water Safety Instructor; and Martial Arts Tai Chi/Chi King
Steve was a Member of the NRA, BSA, Frontier Archery Association and the Fraternal Organization Masonic Lodge , Boyertown 741. He recently received a 25 year recognition of membership in the Masonic Lodge.
As a lover of the outdoors, Steve enjoyed camping, hiking, swimming, skiing and golf. In the recent years golf was foremost with his golfing friends in Bonita Springs.
Stephen loved our country and served in the US Airforce from 1966 to 1970 and as a veteran of the Vietnam Era. His rank was Sargent.
Steve was thoughtful and caring, seldom missing the weekly call to his siblings and niece who were far away.
Steve leaves behind a brother: Charles L. Barndt, Jr. (California); sister: Barbara Ann Miller (Pennsylvania) and niece: Ann Marie McDonald (Pennsylvania). He was predeceased by his sister: Dr. Miriam Barndt-Webb.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM, October 28, 2023 Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, 39 Bonnie Brae Rd., Spring City, PA
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Zion Lutheran church will be accepted in Stephen’s honor.
