James  E. Bauer, Sr., 86, Pottstown

James Bauer, Sr., 86, husband to Elaine Pennapacker Bauer, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023 at  Manatawny Manor.

He was born February 2, 1937 to the late  R. Frantz Bauer and the late Theresa Boettger Bauer.  One of two boys, Jim spent his entire life in the Spring Ford area.  He was a member of the last graduating class from Royersford High School in 1955.  He married his high school sweetheart, Elaine Pennapacker and they had four children.

Jim retired from Jiffy Products Co. which he owned and operated for many years.  Jim and Elaine spent time traveling and enjoyed time with their family, at their Lewes, Delaware home, where he loved boating and fishing.

Jim leaves behind his devoted wife of 68 years, Elaine, four children:  Theresa Lucas (Stephen), James E. Bauer, Jr. (Debra); Michelle Pizzico (Rick) and Linda Toombs (Ronald); 11 grandchildren:  Kristin Lucas, Justin Lucas (Samantha), Brandon Lucas (Kyle), Melissa Rhoads (Kristopher), Stacey Bauer, Elizabeth Zanar (Scott), Nicole Devlin (James), Eric Pizzico (Eireann), Jared DeAngelo (Moni), Christopher Toombs (Melissa), Zachary Toombs and 9 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Bauer.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 7, 2023 at St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler Road, Limerick, PA.  Visitation at the church will be from 9:30 to 11:00, prior to the service. 

Burial will be immediately following in the Augustus Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Flowers or memorial contributions are welcomed by the family.  Contributions can be made to St. James Lutheran Church Make a Donation (tithe.ly) or the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter (alz.org).  An opportunity to leave a condolence for the family  can be made at www.sgsfuneralhome.com.  All arrangements are being handled by Shalkop, Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, Inc, Spring City, PA.
