Obituary of Ronald R. Keown

Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ronald R. Keown, Jr., South Coventry

Ronald R. Keown, 81 beloved husband to Loretta Boettger Keown passed away on December 6, 2023, in the Pottstown Hospital. Ron was the first born of five children to the Late Ronald R. Keown, Sr. and the late Viola Minnick Keown.  After high school, Ron went to work for the Bentley Harris Company.  While working there in 1964, he was drafted.  Bentley Harris kept his position and a place for him in their company, and he never left.  Retiring after 45 years of service.

Ron married the love of his life Loretta Boettger, and they never left each other’s side.  They built a beautiful life together and enjoyed time with family.  Not only was Ron a devoted family man, but he was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan.  Ron was a season ticket holder for the Philadelphia Phillies when they played at the Connie Mac Stadium and the Vet until it was demolished.  After that, he gave up his season tickets to cheer them on from his chair at home.

Ron was a faithful golfer, church attender and back yard bird watcher.  He found solace in fishing and back yard projects.

He leaves behind his wife, Loretta Boettger Keown; son:  Blaine Carl “Skip” Stokley (Wife Rhonda); grandchildren:  Blaine, Jr. Stokley (Shaina), Travis Stokley (Aleja) and Richard Garofolo; Great Grandchildren:  Marletta, Blaine III, Charolette Stokley and Ricky, Jasey Garofolo-Magargal (Ryan), Peyton; Brothers:  Ray (Marylou) and John (JoAnn) Keown and sister, Nancy.  Preceded in death by his brother Val Keown (sister-in-law Elizabeth)

Friends and Family are invited to attend the funeral service held at the Harmonyville Church of the Brethren, 2037 Harmonyville Road, Pottstown, PA 19465 at 11:00 AM December 12, 2023.  Visitation will be from 10-11 prior to the service.  Burial will be immediately following at the Augustus Lutheran Church Cemetery.
