Obituary of Timothy J. Thum

Timothy J. Thum, 76, of Douglasville, PA passed away on July 15, 2024 at Pottstown Memorial

 Hospital. Tim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, and his presence

 will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Tim graduated from Spring-Ford High School, and Millersville University and proudly served in the Pennsylvania National Guard. He was an industrial arts teacher at Spring-Ford for 33 years and enjoyed passing along his knowledge of wood shop and mechanics. He also served as coach for football and basketball and took pride in teaching his teams about those sports and the value of sportsmanship.

Tim was predeceased by his parents, Charles Joseph and Elizabeth (Massenburg) Thum, his brother Todd Thum, and his sister Susan Thum. He is survived by his loving wife Diane (Tavenner), his son Ryan (Megan), his daughter Karin (fur baby Hope), granddaughters Mikaela Thum and Casey Thum (David Zubec), great grandson Tucker, brother Kevin (Paula) and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation of family and friends will take place Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 9-11am at Shalkop & Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge Street, Spring City.
