Obituary of N. Robert Moore Sr.

Please share a memory of N. Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

N. Robert Moore (Bob), 88, husband of the late Leah Moore, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Keystone Villa, Douglassville, PA. Oldest of three, Bob was born on April 6, 1936 in Stowe, PA, to the late George and Verna (Doroczi) Moore and preceded in death by brother H. Richard Moore. Bob attended Phoenixville High School, followed by enlisting in the United States Navy. He enjoyed talking about his time stationed in Maine working as a parachute rigger.

Bob and Leah were married April 8, 1961 and enjoyed 60 years of marriage, until Leah’s passing. As a young adult, Bob worked for Mowrey Latshaw and Diamond Glass, then Cann & Saul Steel Co for 25 years until they closed in ‘88. He retired from Graco in 2001. Bob and Leah resided in Parker Ford for 58 years where they raised their family and many liters of puppies.

Raising English Springer Spaniels and hunting small game were Bob’s favorite pastimes. He enjoyed hunting with his brother in their youth, then with his son and eventually his granddaughter and grandson. There was always a story to tell and retell about their hunting adventures!

Spend any time with Bob you would quickly realize he loved his country, his Savior and his family. He proudly wore his Navy cap, faithfully prayed for others (said he had a lot of time to pray) and of course loved family visits, celebrations and stories about the little ones. Bob will be remembered for his storytelling, laughter and wit. As one of his caregiver’s said “he cracks me up without even trying!”

For the past two years Bob resided at Keystone Villa Assisted Living. He was very popular sitting on the front porch waving and chatting with all those who came and went . . . some called him the Mayor of Keystone! Caregivers, kitchen staff, housekeeping, custodians and administration loved Bob, Bobby or Bob-o. Then we added the Suncrest Hospice team and they too loved on Bob. What a blessing to be surrounded by so many caring individuals!

Bob leaves behind two children: Linda Jean Gottier (Russell) and N. Robert Moore Jr. (Beth); sister: RuthAnn Green (David); six grandchildren: Ryan Gottier (Katelyn), Katelynne Bachert (Brian), Megan Callahan (Brian), Reagan Gottier, Robert Moore (Kristen), and Kamryn Ziegler (David); and seven great-grandchildren: Rory, Ellison & Rowan Gottier, McKinley, Griffin & Lennon Bachert and Louella Moore.
