Please share a memory of Carol to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Carol Jane (Smith) Forster, 78, Ocean View, DE

Carol Jane (Smith) Forster, 78, passed away early Saturday morning, August 31, 2024, at home with her husband and two children by her side. She was born on July 24, 1946, in Norristown, PA, to the late George and Lois (Vinton) Smith. Carol spent most of her life in Spring City, PA, before moving to Ocean View, DE. She graduated from Spring-Ford High School in 1964 and met the love of her life, Anthony “Tony” Forster, in 1962. They were married in 1965 and spent nearly six decades together.

Carol began her working career after her children started school, you would see her sitting in the FOTOMAT booth at Genuardi’s in Spring City. Her love of photography was evident in the many photo albums she lovingly completed. Later, she helped her husband build his auto mechanic and gas station business in Phoenixville. She finished her career at Vanguard as a record retentionist, where she spent 24 years.

Carol lived life to the fullest, with many hobbies and passions that kept her busy through the years. In her younger days, she loved riding horses with her dad, who owned several. She had a deep love for Disney, with Goofy being her favorite character, and made many trips to Florida. Carol also enjoyed camping, frequently visiting the Poconos and Myrtle Beach. Her adventures took her to places like Australia, where she held a koala, Paris to stand at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, and British Columbia to visit the filming locations of her favorite TV series, Highlander. Her travels also brought her to Indiana, PA, where she had strong ties due to her beloved grandparents and extended family. Carol was an avid reader and excelled at Trivial Pursuit. She spent much time studying her Bible and growing in her spiritual journey with God. She cherished her time at Bethany Beach, DE, where she spent her later years. When she wasn't spoiling her dogs, Mandy and Chewy, she was stamping, stenciling, creating craft picture albums, sewing, crocheting, or making beautiful quilts for her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her beloved husband, Anthony L. Forster of Ocean View, DE; her son, Daniel R. Forster his wife Robin (Strunk) of Pottstown, PA; her daughter, Kimberly C. (Forster) Fitzcharles of Birdsboro, PA; six grandchildren: Daniel R. Forster Jr. (DJ) his wife Emily (Lidstone) Forster, Kassandra Forster, Alec Forster, Amber Fitzcharles, Taylor Fitzcharles, and Trevor Fitzcharles; and twelve great-grandchildren, whom she adored. She is also survived by her brother, Robert (Bobby) L. Smith of Royersford, PA, along with many friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of Carol's Life will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the VFW, 730 S. Fourth Ave, Royersford, PA 19468. Visitation and fellowship with friends and family will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with words, prayers starting at 12:00 pm. Luncheon to follow. Because of Carol’s love of Disney and the beach, please feel free to wear your favorite Disney or beach attire.
