Obituary of Jaqueline H. Hefelfinger

Please share a memory of Jaqueline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jacqueline Hazel Hefelfinger, a cherished loved one, known for her quiet and resilient personality, left us at the age of 58 on Friday September 6, 2024. She was born April 7, 1966 at Pottstown Memorial. Jackie as she is known to her friends and family, lived a difficult life struggling with mental and physical health issues, regardless of her struggles Jackie woke up everyday and put one foot in front of the other never surrendering to her struggles. Jackie was always sweet and kind to everyone she encountered leaving lasting memories and the world is a lesser place to not have her in it.

Jackie was taking a walk Thursday morning September 5, 2024, like she would often do when she had trouble sleeping. Her family has debated where she could be heading at that time in the morning, being known to walk everywhere, could she be going to the library, the store, for some breakfast, or simply just walking to clear her mind. Tragically she was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of route 23 and route 113 when trying to cross the street. After medical services revived her on scene and the extent of her injuries were assessed she was life flighted to Reading Hospital. Doctors did further assessment at the hospital to see the true extent of her injuries and find a treatment path, however the injuries were catastrophic and the decision was made to end life sustaining measures and allow Jackie to rest. Jackie was taken off the ventilator at 4:32 pm on Thursday and she passed peacefully at 2:13 am Friday with family by her side.

Jackie was preceded in death by her father William Hefelfinger, her sister Ginny Medina, and sister Mary Elizabeth. She is survived by her two sons, Matthew Hefelfinger and Kristopher Foster, her four grandchildren Hayden Foster, Hudson Foster, Graham Foster, and Beckett Foster, her mother Marcy Hefelfinger, her siblings Jannea Vargas, Bill Hefelfinger, and Mary Hefelfinger as well as countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and family loved ones.

Jackie was not currently employed anywhere due to medical disability, however she has had several memorable jobs in the past. Those jobs included a hairdresser at Coventry Mall in Pottstown, she sold Avon products for years which was evident by the numerous bags and pamphlets in her home and car, she worked at a movie rental place in Royersford near the Dairy Queen, as well as a volunteer fire police for the Spring City Fire Department. At 58 years old Jackie still wanted to better herself and was currently enrolled in online business classes through Lansdale School of Business.

Jackie had many interests and hobbies, many of her favorites were crafting from cross stitch, knitting, plastic canvas, quilting, and many more and much of it would be purple, her favorite color. If she wasn’t crafting then you would most likely find her with a book in her hands, which was evident from her purse at the time of the accident which held a book and kindle. Growing up Jackie and her family loved to travel, some of her favorites were going camping and the shore. As an adult her favorite place to travel was the library, where she took her online classes and checked out books she wanted to read. Her all time favorite show that she liked to watch was Charmed and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. While her current living situation did not allow for pets, Jackie was known to love cats and has had many in her life.
