Mary Ann (Ferrara) Derix, age 91, wife of the late Henry Derix of Spring City died Monday November 16, 2009 in the Manatawny Manor Nursing Home, East Coventry. Mrs. Derix was born October 1, 1918 in Phoenixville, PA the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Margaret (Chico) Ferrara. She attended St. Mary's School in Phoenixville, She resided most of her life in Royersford and Spring City. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Spring City. Mrs. Derix was employed for many years in the art department for the former Valley Forge Flag Co. of Spring City until her retirement. She was a homemaker. She is survived by daughters: Margaret (Derix0 Thren of Oscala, FL and Henrietta (Derix) Delibertis of Douglassville and a son: Henry J. Derix of West Bury, RI 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A sister: Rose Ferrara of Ayre, MA Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Thursday at 10:00 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3460 Schuylkill Road, Spring City; The Reverend Charles O'Hara officiating. Burial to follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick. The Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, Spring Cit is handling the arrangements. On line condolences may be made at sgsfuneralhome.com
