Obituary of Muriel Patricia Sundermier

Muriel Patricia “Patty”  Sundermier, age 73, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024. She was born on June 21, 1951, in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, to Richard Bieber and Muriel (Crane) Bieber.

Patty graduated from Wissahickon High School in 1969. In 2004 she attended South University where she was a member of the Academic National Honor Society and earned a degree in Paralegal Studies. Patty found joy and fulfillment in her career buying and selling electronics where she excelled and built meaningful connections. Patty devoted countless years to guiding young adults on their journey to recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, becoming a beloved adopted mom to many whose lives she profoundly impacted. 

Patty was an adventurous traveler and had a profound  passion for Native American culture and history. She had an unwavering love for the majestic wild horses of the west and was a devoted supporter of several equine welfare organizations. Patty lived a rich and fulfilling life, creating cherished memories and forming lasting friendships along the way. 

She leaves behind her daughter Amanda Oliva, son in law Thomas Oliva, her son Matthew Sundermier, daughter in law Stephanie Sundermier, Her granddaughters Gracie and June Burak, Lily, Ava, Gabrielle, and Lina Sundermier, four brothers and three nephews and a niece, who will miss her greatly. She is fondly remembered by many dear friends who admired her deeply. Patty is predeceased by her parents Richard and Muriel Bieber, her brother Richard Bieber, and nephew Nathan Bieber who she is now reunited with in eternal rest.

A memorial service and visitation will be held at R Strunk Funeral Home on Friday, December 13th at 5:00 PM where family and friends are invited to celebrate her life. Prayers and celebration of life with Father Jeffrey M. Rott will begin at 6 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Muriel’s honor to the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary in support of her lifelong commitment to the wild Mustang horses in South Dakota. www.wildmustangs.com
