David Lynn Tyson, 80, Pottstown

David L. Tyson, 80, beloved husband to Beverly A. (Schott) Tyson, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 in the Paoli Hospital.

David was born December 7, 1944 in Norristown to the late Everett S. Tyson Sr. and the late Pearl (Alderfer) Tyson.  A Norristown native, David graduated in 1962 from A.D. Eisenhower High School.  Recruited into the Army, David served our country from 1965 – 1967. He was in the 2nd Armoured Division Band at Fort Hood, Texas where he was a Specialist 5th Class and played the trumpet. He was employed by CE Refractories as a Foreman and later Blue Streak Courier until he retired.

Music brought a lot of joy to David.  He loved all kinds of music. His greatest joy was his family and spending time in Ocean City, Maryland with his family on beach vacations. David also had a love for his German Shepherd dog, Myah and his model train.

David leaves behind his wife of 58 ½ years, Beverly A. Tyson, two daughters: Kathy A. Cicala and Debbie L. Laudermilch (Jim) and 5 grandsons: Trevor, Max & Christian Cicala, Nathan & Riley Laudermilch, and a granddaughter Kasey Laudermilch, who preceded him in death in 2008.  He also leaves behind a brother, Everett S. Tyson, Jr. (Leah) and niece, Beth Nyce (Karl) and nephew, Stephen Tyson.

A private family burial of Ashes with Military Honors will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Central Schwenkfelder Church’s Garden of Memories in Lansdale, PA. Rev. Taylor Walker will preside.
