Obituary of Harry F. Styer

Harry F. Styer passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15. Harry was born in Phoenixville, PA on November 8, 1913, a son to the late Webster Styer, and the late Elsie (Funk) Styer. He was the widower of the late Ruth Elmyra Lusby, with whom he had been married for 42 years. Living in South Coventry Township most of his life, he was a 1931 graduate of The Spring City High School. Harry worked in the farming industry until 1954. He then worked at Baldwin Electric Company until 1971, and Lynch Electric until 1995. He was also a self employed electrical and plumbing contractor. He was a member of The Pughtown Baptist Church. Harry was always willing to help anyone, and would do anything however humble or unassuming. He will always be remembered by having the best of smiles, and never speaking a negative word against anyone. He was an amazing role model. He is survived by daughter, Mary, wife of Thomas Holton of Eagle, PA; son, Ray, husband of Joyce Styer of Spring City, PA; son, Kenneth, husband of Carole Styer of Pottstown, PA; and son Brian of Philadelphia, PA; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; and his sister Thelma Fisher of Phoenixville. In addition, he is survived by his dear companion of 15 years, Ruth Seeders. In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen Wallace, son Daniel, and daughter Linda Styer; and his sister Dorothy Detwiler; and his companion of 18 years, Mae Springer. He is also predeceased by his grandchild, Michael. A memorial service is being held at Pughtown Baptist Church, 780 Pughtown Road, Spring City, PA, on Sunday, March 23 at 12:30 PM. Interment will be private In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Pughtown Baptist Church. Funeral services are in trust of Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home.
