Joan Rarich, 82, Spring City Joan (Walt) Rarich beloved wife of John Rarich of 62 years, died on Tuesday in the Phoenixville Hospital. Joan was born in 1932; a daughter to the late Warren and Eva (Funk) Walt, Joan lived her whole life in Spring City. She graduated from Spring City High School. After high school, she went to the Pottstown Business School after which she worked at the Pottstown Mercury newspaper for a number of years. Then she took time off from work to raise her two children. When the children were old enough, she went back to work for the Clover Lamp Company in Royersford where she retired in 1991. She has been a very active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Spring City for over fifty years. Since she retired in 1991, she has enjoyed seeing musical shows, going on bus trips, and to dinner theaters. She enjoyed knitting and belonged to the Gilbertsville knitting club. She was also a good cook. In addition to her husband she is survived by Daughter: Linda wife of Brian Tracy of Sanatoga PA and a son: Everett husband of Judy Rarich of Spring City. And three grandchildren: Jason, Wesley and David. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 21, 2015 in Zion Lutheran, Route 724 & Bonnie Brae Road, Spring City with the Rev. Paul Townsend officiating. Visitation will be held 9:00 - 10:30 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Limerick Garden of Memories in Limerick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 39 Bonnie Brae Road Spring City PA 19475.
